Casket Escort of Sgt. Marlon E. Myrie

 
 

 

 

 The Leathernecks M/C, Jason Dunham Chapter, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. had the distinct honor and privilege to escort the casket of Sgt Marlon E. Myrie from the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport to the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pompano Beach Fl.  Sgt Myrie made the Supreme Sacrifice on 25 JUN 11 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.  He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC.

Military honors were executed by the United States Marine Corps detachment from Hialeah, Fl., their appearance and decorum were impeccable to say the least. 

The Leathernecks M/C will again be honored on Friday the 8th of July to provide our presence in attending the Sgt.’s funeral and again provide escort duties from the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 200 W. Copans Road, Pompano Beach Fl. to the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. 

Our heartfelt condolences go out the Sgt. Myrie’s family and friends who grieve the greatest sacrifice made by their son and loved one on behalf of, and for the protection of, a grateful nation.

Sgt. Myrie has transferred to his final duty station, guarding the golden gates of Heaven, stand at ease within the arms of God, Marine!
